Blog EntryTHE MANY USES OF VINEGAR (MALT)Nov 12, '07 1:37 PM
for everyone

OK so some visitors to my blog may notice a new group I have started. the malt vinegar users club. this is just a new idea I wished to share with fellow users ( thanks to Amy for inspiring this blog and group).

Malt Vinegar

Now not all Vinegars are the same infact there are more types and varietys out there then youd ever imagine.

====================

"Malt vinegar is made by malting barley, causing the starch in the grain to turn to maltose. An ale is then brewed from the maltose and allowed to turn into vinegar, which is then aged. It is typically light brown in color." from wikipedia

where as :-

White
So-called "white vinegar" (actually transparent in appearance), or sometimes referred to as spirit vinegar, can be made by oxidizing a distilled alcohol.

Alternatively, it may be nothing more than a solution of acetic acid in water. Most commercial white vinegars are 5% acetic acid solutions

============

Todays tip :- try malt vinegar on chicken fried rice ( add soy sauce too if needed)

any other sugestions welcome please leave a comment

I love to used my malt vinegars at the table in top of fry food like fish and chips, fry chickens and even fry pork, we belived that the vinegar cut of on the fat. I do not know if this is a fact but I do believed in it.
